Little did we know, our decision to start eating better when we were expecting our first child would lead to life-changing journey with food.
Sparked by a conversation about organic baby food over dinner with friends and combined with the introduction to Michael Pollan’s Omnivore’s Dilemma, we started to unfold the unfortunate realities of our food system. With continued research, reading books and watching documentaries, we became outraged about the impacts the current corporate food producers and big agriculture is having on our bodies and the environment.
What kept us optimistic was the supportive community we began to discover in Vancouver – so many people who have gone through similar experiences and are now dedicated to supporting a food system that is environmentally sustainable and socially responsible. We joined this movement with the hopes of inviting more along the way.
